Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at https://aya.is (the "Website") and any related services provided by AYA.

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website.

1. About AYA

AYA (Açık Yazılım Ağı — Open Source Network) is a non-profit software foundation formed by volunteers. AYA enables volunteers motivated by social good to collaborate and develop open-source information technology solutions. These solutions are primarily developed for official institutions, non-governmental organizations, and the general public.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Website. By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Authentication and Integrations

The Website uses GitHub OAuth for user authentication. You may also connect additional third-party services (such as YouTube and other platforms) to your AYA account. By signing in or connecting these services, you authorize us to access certain information from those platforms as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect any integration at any time through your account settings.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your GitHub account
  • All activity that occurs through your account on the Website
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Website, you agree not to:

5. Open-Source Projects and Contributions

5.1 Project Licensing

All projects hosted under AYA are released as open source under permissive or copyleft licenses. The specific license for each project is stated in the respective project repository.

5.2 Contributions

By contributing to any AYA project (via code, documentation, design, or otherwise), you agree that:

  • Your contributions will be licensed under the same license as the project
  • You have the right to make such contributions and grant the associated license
  • Your contributions do not infringe upon the rights of any third party
5.3 Volunteer Nature

All contributions to AYA are made on a voluntary basis. AYA does not provide compensation, employment, or employment-like benefits to its contributors or volunteers. No employment or contractual relationship is created by contributing to AYA projects.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 AYA Brand

The AYA name, logo, and associated branding are the property of AYA. You may not use them without prior written consent, except as necessary to refer to AYA in a factual, non-misleading manner.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the Website. By posting content, you grant AYA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Website and AYA's mission.

6.3 Third-Party Content

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, repositories, and services. AYA does not endorse and is not responsible for any third-party content.

7. Newsletter

If you subscribe to the AYA newsletter, you agree to receive periodic communications about AYA projects, events, and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us directly.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Website and all related services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

AYA is a volunteer-run non-profit organization. While we strive to maintain high-quality services, we cannot guarantee continuous availability or the absence of errors.
